<p>Extricate yourself from situations that are a constant source of stress and misery. How can you improve your mental health if you are in an environment that contributes to its decline?</p>
<p>Avoid using any mood altering stimulants such<span id="more-9"></span> as energy drinks. You should also avoid depressants such as alcohol.</p>
<p>Stay away from downbeat, depressing, ominous films or music. They might have a marginal therapeutic value on the surface but the truth is they do not help you reverse your state of mind.</p>
